Safety for you and your dog on the fells

• Check the weather forecast before you set off and always take a good map with you.
• Think about whether you (and your dog) are fit enough to do the walk.
• Take enough drinking water for you and your dog.
• Make sure you have enough clothing in case the temperature falls and take a blanket for your dog.
• Be careful crossing fields with a dog and if there are farm animals around you must keep your dog on a lead.
